Emalahleni (Witbank) Shared Vision Encounter In preparation for the upcoming city-wide mission to Witbank, (now known as Emalahleni), in late October of this year, the AE Mission department recently facilitated a Shared Vision Encounter (SVE) with pastors and ministers from churches which will be participating in the mission. A Shared Vision Encounter is a process whereby pastors come together to establish a common vision for the mission as well as to form a Steering Committee and a number of working groups, whose task it is to organise, direct and coordinate various aspects of the mission. The SVE was led by Chris Thenjwayo (AE Mission director), assisted by AE staffers Mbulelo Hina and Jerry Radzilani. The pastors came together in mid-May for what proved to be a very successful SVE. A time of worship, a great deal of hard work and discussion, and an opportunity for fellowship over a cup of tea resulted in a succesful conclusion to the day with a Steering Committee in place, as well as Chairpersons for many of the working groups. The title of the mission will be the Emalahleni Evangelism Explosion 2009. Much work still needs to take place before the proclamation phase of the mission which will be from October 25th to November 1st. One of the most important tasks of course will be raising funds to cover the costs of the mission. Do pray with us that the Lord will undertake for the funding needs, for the continuing set-up work and for all those who will come to salvation during the mission. Your prayers are much appreciated.
