ERRA Mission to Glad Tidings Church, Chatsworth, Durban

Jesus said, “The fields are white unto harvest, but the workers are few,” and the AE Mission team recently spent time equipping the workers in one local church to reach out to the fields around them and bring in the harvest that is waiting. Enjoying the last days of summer sunshine and warmth, the team, accompanied by a group of Foxfire Youth, headed down to Durban to conduct an ERRA mission at Glad Tidings Church in the predominantly Indian inhabited suburb of Chatsworth.

Chatsworth has a large population of Hindus and the Glad Tidings Church has found that one of the best ways to reach out to the surrounding community has been to minister the love of Jesus to them in practical ways before bringing the message of the Gospel to them. The AE team focus over the mission period was to equip the congregation for evangelism and outreach and this was done by coming alongside them as they visited old age homes, schools and served meals and teas to community members. The AE team also spent time with the congregation teaching, preaching and sharing testimonies. The Foxfires also spent some time in the community doing door-to-door evangelism as well as ministering through dance and drama in two local schools.

Do pray for Glad Tidings church as they seek to reach out to the people of Chatsworth and pray that the Lord will enable them to reap a rich harvest.
