AE Prayer Partners Conference: 15 August 2009

Saturday saw a group of AE's faithful prayer partners coming together at the AE conference centre in Pietermaritzburg for the first of three Prayer Partners conferences that  AE will be hosting this year. These conferences are an opportunity for our prayer supporters to fellowship with the team, to worship and pray together and to hear God's heart for the future of the work.

Report on the Pastors’ Gathering held at the AE Centre on the 18th August 2009

Approximately 120 pastors from all over Pietermaritzburg gathered at the AE centre on Tuesday morning (18 August) to explore ways to bring unity to the body of Christ in Pietermaritzburg. The event, was an initiative of pastors from the Pietermaritzburg central fraternal, who have been praying over a number of years around the issue of bringing unity to the church in the city. With the assistance of David Peters of the AE city team (the Lord’s Caring Centre), Mbulelo Hina and Chris Thenjwayo, Ps John van Niekerk and others, invitations went out to ministers fraternals across the city and it was pleasing to see the good response.

Bonginkosi

Bonginkosi is a ministry of African Enterprise, which began in the 1970s during the height of the Apartheid era in South Africa. Originally begun as a feeding scheme to provide for the many hungry and poverty-stricken children of the Edendale township outside Pietermaritzburg, with the death of Apartheid and the introduction of school feeding schemes by the national government, the ministry began to focus on the provision of Christ-centered pre-school education. The Bonginkosi pre-school was originally housed in a very old and dilapidated building, but with the generosity and hard work of many Christians both here in SA and around the world, the school was overjoyed to move to a new facility in 2009.
